St John NT is marking National Reconciliation Week by expanding its focus on culturally safe healthcare, Aboriginal engagement and community-led partnerships across Central Australia. The organisation is working with Indigenous leaders and organisations to strengthen trust, communication and health outcomes, while progressing initiatives focused on education, shared understanding, community safety and paramedic wellbeing.

The economic boost behind every paramedic recruit

St John NT says ambulance recruitment is delivering benefits far beyond healthcare, with 29 interstate and overseas paramedics relocating to the Territory this financial year. Many are settling permanently, supporting local businesses, joining communities and contributing to regional economies, while gaining unique professional experience and helping strengthen frontline emergency healthcare services.

1,500 Territorians asked to weigh in on ambulance care

St John NT has launched its 2026 Patient Experience Survey, with 1,500 randomly selected Territorians invited to share feedback on ambulance care as demand continues to rise. In 2024–25, crews responded to more than 101,000 Triple Zero calls and cared for over 56,000 patients. The survey helps identify what’s working, where improvements are needed, and informs service planning. Open from 4 May to 5 June 2026, responses are confidential and contribute to national benchmarking.
