St John NT celebrates Australia Day Honours recipients Aaron Brooks ASM and Dr Felix Ho OAM ASM OStJ

St John NT is proud to recognise Aaron Brooks ASM and Dr Felix Ho OAM ASM OStJ, who have been acknowledged in the 2026 Australia Day Honours for their distinguished service to healthcare and the community.

Aaron Brooks ASM has been awarded the Ambulance Service Medal in recognition of his sustained contribution to ambulance operations and patient care across the Northern Territory. With more than 15 years’ service as a qualified paramedic and based in the Territory since 2009, Aaron has undertaken a wide range of frontline, leadership and mentoring roles while continuing to deliver high-quality, patient-focused clinical care.

Throughout his career with St John NT, Aaron has played a critical role in major operational responses, including COVID-19 and cyclone events, supporting service continuity during periods of prolonged and unprecedented demand. He is widely respected for his clinical professionalism, calm leadership and strong commitment to supporting his colleagues.

A significant aspect of Aaron’s recent contribution has been his leadership in establishing the Territory Deployment Manager position. The role was created to provide direct clinical and operational support to on-road clinicians, strengthening decision-making, improving fatigue management and enhancing overall operational resilience.

Aaron is also recognised for his dedication to mentoring paramedics, cadets and volunteers, and for building strong partnerships with emergency services and health agencies across the Territory to support coordinated responses during complex incidents.

Dr Felix Ho OAM ASM OStJ has received the Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of his exceptional service to community health, leadership and education. His honour follows his recent recognition as an Australian of the Year finalist and reflects his long-standing commitment to improving access to high-quality healthcare, particularly for vulnerable and diverse communities.

Through his work as a clinician, educator, advocate and leader, Felix has made a significant and lasting contribution to health outcomes in the Northern Territory and nationally. His dedication to service, innovation and community wellbeing exemplifies the values of St John NT.
