Abigail Trewin AM
Chief Executive Officer
An Intensive Care Paramedic by background, Abigail brings more than 15 years’ frontline ambulance experience and over a decade of executive leadership across disaster health, complex emergency operations and government systems, including service with the World Health Organization Emergency Medical Teams Secretariat in Geneva to the Territory's ambulance service.
For more than a decade, Abigail served as a Director and Mission Lead with the Australian Medical Assistance Team (AUSMAT), leading multidisciplinary teams across major domestic and international disasters. Her leadership has focused on operational reliability, clinical governance, workforce safety and disciplined execution in high-risk, high-scrutiny environments.
She has held senior executive roles with the Department of Justice Victoria and Respond Global and served as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, operating at the centre of government across complex policy and operational portfolios.
Appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2023, Abigail holds a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and is completing a Doctor of Public Health focused on high-performance teams.

Sam Kellick
Director Ambulance Services
Sam brings extensive operational ambulance leadership experience, having previously held senior leadership roles with Hato Hone St John New Zealand overseeing frontline ambulance operations across the wider Christchurch metropolitan area.
With more than 16 years’ experience across ambulance operations, communications and leadership, Sam has led large frontline teams in complex, high-pressure emergency service environments, with a strong focus on operational performance, workforce wellbeing and service delivery.
He is recognised for his practical leadership style, commitment to strong team culture and ability to build trusted relationships across frontline workforces, emergency services and government agencies. Sam is passionate about supporting the people delivering care on the frontline and translating strategy into clear operational outcomes.
Iqbal Hasan CA MPA BBA
Group Chief Financial Officer
Hasan brings over 14 years of senior financial and commercial management experience, spanning business process optimisation, statutory reporting, internal controls, risk management, IT, investment portfolio oversight, external audit, and contract administration.
He joined St John NT in July 2022 as Accounting Manager and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in February 2024. In this capacity, Hasan leads the organisation’s accounting, finance, and IT functions, driving performance, strengthening governance, and ensuring operational efficiency. He oversees financial management teams, system integration, and asset management, while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Hasan is committed to building sustainable financial frameworks that enable St John NT to deliver high-quality services to the community while positioning the organisation for long-term growth and resilience.
Jeannette Button GAICD, MBA
Director Strategy, Brand & Engagement
Jeannette joined St John NT in 2019 and is responsible for proactive media engagement, issues management, marketing, internal and external communications as well as fundraising and community education.
With more than 25 years of communication and public relations experience, Jeannette has led projects across the health, telecommunications, tourism, mining, government and not-for-profit sectors.
She is passionate about safeguarding the organisation’s brand and reputation and building support and recognition through positive stakeholder and community engagement.
Mark Ferguson ASM CStJ
Director Volunteer Event Health Services
Mark has been with St John NT for more than 20 years. He joined the organisation in 1988 as a Junior volunteer in Alice Springs and in 2001 commenced as a full time Paramedic, before completing a Masters in Critical Care Paramedicine and a joining the on-road Critical Response Unit.
He has a passion for volunteering and has held many positions within the St John Volunteer divisions across the Territory and as Commissioner.
Mark looks after our Volunteer Event Health Services, which includes our Volunteers and First Aid coverage at community events. He has extensive knowledge of our Priory and is currently the Volunteer Youth Projects Officer with St John National.
