St John NT welcomes new members to the Order of St John

Government House

St John NT Chair, Mr Peter Carew AM MStJ, opened official proceedings last night at Government House for the 2025 Order of St John Investiture ceremony.

“It is an extreme honour to recognise the contribution and dedication of our staff and volunteers, in particular those who have been welcomed into the Order of St John or promoted for the contribution they have made in our community, upholding the motto of the Order, Pro Fide, Pro Utilitate Hominum, For the faith in the service of humanity,” he said.

The Investiture Ceremony is an annual event whereby individuals are invited to join or be promoted within the Order of St John, a royal order of chivalry under the Crown. A membership to the Order of St John is a recognised honour under the Australian Honours System and presents itself as an excellent opportunity to pay tribute to the extraordinary members of the St John NT community.

The event was officiated by His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM KStJ, Administrator of the Northern Territory, representative of the Crown in right of the Northern Territory.

Included in last night’s honours was Dr Felix Ho ASM OStJ who was promoted to the level of Officer of the Order.

Dr Ho was recognised for his leadership of the St John Youth program across Australia since 2021. During this time, he has worked tirelessly to improve the Junior and Youth interest and proficiency curriculum, enhance the Junior and Youth First Aid Program, and lead the planning of the Centenary of Cadets in Australia for 2025.

Dr Ho has been a dedicated volunteer with St John Ambulance since 2007, beginning as a cadet in Western Australia.
