This course equips individuals with the skills and knowledge required to assess and respond effectively to people experiencing crises. It focuses on ensuring safety, providing immediate support, and referring individuals to appropriate services. This unit is relevant for those working in community services, health, or similar fields, where crisis intervention is part of their role. This course covers the following accredited course:

•    CHCCCS019 Recognise and respond to crisis situations

This course is appropriate for people who work in high risk areas, act as first aiders to larger facilities or groups, or work in areas where help may be delayed or have difficulty accessing casualties.

The course covers a broad range of advanced skills and provides you with high level skills in management of large incidents, major trauma, sudden cardiac arrest, emotionally disturbed and drug affected casualties. This course develops advanced skills for providing life support and focuses on the use of oxygen delivery systems and in-depth knowledge and skill in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED).

You must be able to perform CPR on the floor for 2 minutes as this is mandatory information to ensure that the participant is aware of the course requirements.
