St John Ambulance encourage all Northern Territorians to take out Ambulance Cover, Ambulance costs are based on a callout fee and per kilometre fee. The cost of an emergency ambulance is generally around $745 – 1,000. If you are covered with St John Ambulance, you won't have to pay a cent. Click here to view Transport Rates.

Subscription rates vary depending on whether you are a family, or single person, defacto partner, foster and step children. Click here to download a copy of our current Subscription Rates. Subscription costs are very reasonable and are available for up to three years with discount available for two and three year subscriptions.
Holders of an NT Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card are not required to join our Ambulance Subscription Scheme. However, if they travel to Queensland and South Australia they are not covered for Ambulance transport.
St John Ambulance provides cover for interstate and overseas visitors for a maximum of 30 days and is only valid whilst holidaying in the Northern Territory.
Subscribers are covered Australia wide (except South Australia) and are entitled to free emergency transport as many times as the service is justifiably needed medically.
