Product Defect Correction Notice
  12 Apr 2022

St John NT wishes to advise that it has received a Product Defect Correction Notice from Phillips.

The Notice applies to Philips M5071A (adult) and M5072A (infant/child) AED pads that could pose a risk for patients or users.

If you do not have one of these AED’s please disregard this notice.

St John NT is working with Phillips to contact all customers who may have purchased this product. Phillips has identified the problem relating to the Adult SMART Pads Cartridge and the Infant/Child SMART Pads Cartridge for use with HS1/OnSite/Home AEDs which may experience gel separation and reduction of gel surface area.

All customers in possession of this item are advised to continue using the HS1/OnSite/Home AED and pads as-is. During use, ensure the majority of the pad surface is covered with gel and apply the pads to the patient. If you notice the gel beginning to separate from the foam backing as you peel, try to prevent the gel from folding onto itself if possible. No matter the state of the pads, follow the voice prompts because the AED will step you through the necessary actions.

For more information regarding this problem please download the Product Defect Correction Notice which has been developed by Phillips in consultation with Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

For further information regarding products purchased through St John NT please do not hesitate to contact sales@stjohnnt.asn.au or call 08) 8935 2500.
