Joining St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc. in 1988, Mr Mooney became treasurer in 1989, then in 1997 he was appointed the position of Deputy Chairman and Treasurer until his appointment to Chairman in 2000, a position he holds to this day. As well as being a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Valuers, he holds a diploma in Agriculture. He has also been a member of many other prominent Board’s within the Northern Territory such as; the Land Acquisition Tribunal, the Valuation Board, the Darwin Development Consent Authority, the Real Estate Institute of the NT and Chairman of the Board for the Australian Valuers Institute, plus held the position of Vice Chairman of the Keep Australia Beautiful Council. As well as being the Chairman of St Mary’s Cathedral finance committee he is a member of the Catholic Diocesan finance committee.
