Farewell to David Baker (11th March 2008) PDF Print E-mail

Following is a letter from Acting CEO, Ross Coburn.
Friday 22nd February, 2008 hailed the end of an era with David “retiring” from St John after almost 20 years with the last 11 as CEO. During this time we have experienced significant change and in particular growth in our service delivery and commercial and volunteer activity. I know we all wish David, Karen and the family all the best in Queensland and with their future chosen pathways.

I will be acting in David’s position for a period of time during which the CEO role will be advertised. This process should be finalized in the very near future. Your continued support of the organization and in particular assistance to me will be greatly appreciated.

We are in interesting times as a Service provider (both Volunteer/first aid and Ambulance Service) and how we manage these changes is very dependent on having this very diverse organization working as one in a very smart and productive manner. The “one St John, one family” approach and forming workable external partnerships, is how I see, the best way forward.

Thanks again for all your support both in the past and into the future and I look forward to the many years ahead.
