Volunteer with St John

St John Ambulance NT is a not-for-profit organisation that has been serving the Northern Territory community through its divisions of volunteers since 1953, and ensures that members of the public have access to first aid services at a range of community and public events. We are fortunate to have close to 600 St John Ambulance Volunteers Territory-wide, aged from 8 years to the more mature, who dedicate their spare time to supporting the local community. These volunteers devoted over 21,162 hours in 2016 at 912 events across the Territory.

Adults – 18+

Provide quality First Aid Services to the Northern Territory’s wide range of community, social, sporting events, concerts, shows and festivals
Are skilled and motivated volunteers who readily offer their First Aid Services as their contribution to the wellbeing of all Territorians
Undertake a continuous program of training as well as an annual formal assessment
Attend training nights to learn new skills and maintain proficiency
Have opportunities to gain accredited certificates
Help at fun activities like Photo shoots, PR events, Casualty simulation and many more

Youth – 14 to 25 years old

16 & 17 year olds can attend Adult Division
Provide quality First Aid Services to the Northern Territory’s wide range of community, social, sporting events, concerts, shows and festivals
Learn in a safe but challenging environment
Learn lifesaving skills
Participate in Cadet Competitions
Opportunities to gain accredited courses to help with employment opportunities
Work alongside Adults and learn leadership skills for life

Cadets – 11 to 18 years old

Make lifelong friends & having the time of your life
Learn in a safe and challenging environment
Participate in Cadet Competitions
Go on public events and assist in treating patients
Opportunities to gain advanced First Aid qualifications and attend leadership courses
Work alongside adults and learn skills for life
Learn lifesaving skills
Earn proficiency badges

Juniors – 8 to 11 years old

Make lifelong friends & having the time of your life
Learn in a safe and challenging environment
Attend public events, accompanied by an adult member
Earn interest badges
Learn lifesaving skills that can save lives
