Volunteer Training

Volunteer Training

All our members attend divisional training nights to gain and maintain First Aid skills and knowledge. All members are trained in Provide First Aid (PFA). Volunteers who seek nationally accredited training may further their knowledge and skills by completing a Certificate II in Medical First Response and Certificate III in Basic Health Care.

Members are encouraged to develop their First Aid skills and to maintain currency through a re-accreditation program. Other training accredited courses include communications, driving & leadership.

Training Pathway

Induction

Complete the St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc. Volunteer Induction and First Aid Course.

First Aider

Complete 30 hours providing Event Health Services as a First Aider.

First Responder

Complete HLT21020 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response. Complete First Responder Observation workbook and provide Event Health Services as an First Responder.

Advanced Responder

Complete HLT31220 - Certificate III in Basic Health Care. Complete Advance Responder Observation workbook and provide Event Health Services as an Advanced Responder.

Community Response Team

Complete Community Response Team clinical training.
