St John NT is discounting first aid kits and the Zoll AED plus (defibrillator) to help make sure Territorians are ready for the unexpected.

As we approach the end of the Financial Year, Territory businesses are encouraged to take advantage of the Taxation Instant Asset Write Off for small business which ends June 2023 and consider installing an AED in their workplace.

St John NT Director of Commercial Services Colin Southam explained that sudden cardiac arrest is a medical emergency and can happen to anyone, at any time, at any age, anywhere.

“With only 1 in 10 typically surviving a sudden cardiac arrest out of hospital, it makes sense to have the right equipment and to be prepared for the unexpected,” he said.

“In the chain of survival, the first aider is the key person who will make a difference before medical emergency services arrive. How we respond in those first few minutes could mean the difference between life and death,” he said.

St John NT has discounted a number of key first aid items which could be used in the business or at home these include:

• Zoll AED Plus reduced from $2950 to $2350.

The unit includes real-time CPR feedback, guiding you to provide the most effective life-saving chest compressions. Screen displays with text prompts and a 5-year pad and battery life.

• Medium Leisure first aid kit reduced from $111 to $80.

Kit includes fold-out pouches that keep contents neatly organised and easily accessible, in a soft, durable, and water-resistant cover.

• Workplace National First Aid Kit reduced from $199 to $150.

This kit can be strapped to your waist in a hurry, leaving your hands free to respond to injuries and emergencies.

As a self-funded charity, all sales through our commercial activities help us develop skills and support in the community including our volunteer youth program and health services at events across the Northern Territory.
