Nominations for the St John NT Excellence Awards 2020 are now open to all Territorians.

These awards celebrate and recognise the staff and volunteers of St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc. who demonstrate excellence in leadership or clinical practice, an outstanding level of care, professionalism and compassion for members of the Northern Territory community.

Nominations are open until Wednesday, 30 September.

Last year, 25-year-old Aaron Reynolds was named Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise Paramedic of the Year. Aaron joined St John NT in 2016 after completing his Bachelor of Paramedicine through the University of Tasmania and has worked in both Katherine and Darwin, where he has built strong professional relationships and links with the community.

“It was an honour to be named the 2019 Paramedic of the Year,” Mr. Reynolds said.

“I work alongside amazing colleagues every day and I feel humbled to have been recognised by the community and my peers.”

This year marks the 21^st year of the Awards. St John NT CEO Judith Barker said staff and volunteers look forward to the Awards each year as a way to celebrate the organisation’s valuable contribution to the Northern Territory.

“Our team continually works hard to build resilience in the community and to keep the Territory safe,” Ms. Barker said.

“Whether it be our response and attendance at a Triple Zero (000) call, volunteers at major events, or first aid training, our team is committed to caring for Territorians and being there when we’re needed most.”

“I look forward to hearing from the community about our dedicated staff and celebrating the St John NT Excellence Awards 2020 recipients.”

The Awards ceremony is planned for the end of the year and will remain flexible based on the COVID-19 situation. Nomination forms can be downloaded at www.stjohnnt.org.au or picked up at a St John NT ambulance station.
