In Katherine we are a relaxed and friendly group of volunteers and we work closely with the paramedics.

Both Paramedics and Volunteers get in together to get the job done and help one and other out.

We have no formal recruitment dates so you are welcome to come along to any of our training nights. Just give us a call or email to let us know you're coming along. We will give you what you need to start volunteering.

By becoming a Volunteer with Katherine Division you can participate in helping out by attending many public duties with more experienced members. We attend duties such as Football matches, Moto X, Polocrosse, Katherine Show and Rodeos just to name a few.

You will learn health related skills by rendering First Aid to the sick and injured spectators and competitors. You will be provided with First Aid training, valuable skills and a uniform, all you need is a love for sharing a bit of your free time by helping members of your community and a passion to learn new skills.

There’s always something happening at the St John Ambulance Centre in Katherine, there is never a dull moment. Especially when it involves the Katherine Cadet Division.

The St John Ambulance Cadet movement in Katherine provides First Aid services to the greater Katherine region in conjunction with the Adult division, with cadets developing valuable life skills - first aid, teamwork, management and leadership.

The Cadets work closely with the adult volunteer division, paramedics and other local emergency services in a close knit, friendly environment.

Regular weekly meetings cadets undertake a variety of activities ranging from first aid skills, undertaking proficiency badge subjects, combined scenarios and regular social activities. The cadets have a lot of fun whilst learning valuable life saving skills that will benefit them long into the future.

The members of the Katherine Cadet Division can be seen at community events providing first aid care for the participants and spectators.

Local events include - Junior Rugby, Moto X, Speedway, Polo Cross to name a few.

Members are not restricted to events within their local areas. With opportunities made available to attend Large events throughout the Territory.

If you are between 11 & 18 years old, and interested in having fun while learning valuable skills, then feel free to come along to one of our meeting nights.

Were always on the lookout for bright and energetic young people to join the team, we meet each Monday night during school terms (excluding public holidays) from 6.30pm to 8.00pm at the St John Ambulance Centre, 5 Kintore St, Katherine.
