The Batchelor St John Ambulance Division is based in the scenic town of Batchelor at the gateway to Litchfield Park approximately 100 km south of Darwin. This Division attracts membership from the Coomalie Region (Batchelor, Adelaide River, Lake Bennett and surrounding rural areas). This region has a population of just over 1000 people but has a lot more people during the dry with tourists and students at Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education.

Our division is a small but active group of volunteers that meet regularly for training at either the Batchelor Health Clinic or the ambulance shed. As well as training we cover a wide range of public duties such as the Adelaide River Races and Show, the Lingalonga and Isotopia festivals plus community events such as Australia Day and ANZAC Day.

We have a Mercedes Sprinter Ambulance (donated by the Lions Club) that is housed in the Ambulance Shed next to FERG Batchelor (Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service). Both these volunteer organisations provide emergency services for the Coomalie Region and we regularly combine training to promote comraderie between the two volunteer organisations and strengthen our knowledge and skills in emergency situations.

Because we are a small division we are always looking for new volunteers. If you are interested please contact St John NT Headquarters on (08) 8922 6228.
