First Aid for the Mind focusses on mental health issues in every-day situations

Using a combination of instructor presentations, video, face-to-face scenarios and workshopping, this course has been designed around day to day interactions and is ideal for front line staff as well as management.

This course has been designed to suit a wide audience including government and private sector employees, volunteer organisations, emergency services and clients and communities across the Northern Territory.

COURSE NAME:

First Aid for the Mind

COURSE OUTCOME:

Develop knowledge around a broad range of mental health topics supporting the attendee when confronted by mental health issues in everyday situations.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This training is recommended for Government and private sector clients, volunteer organisations, emergency services and communities across the Northern Territory

ENTRY STANDARD:

Anyone over the age of 16 may undertake this training.

AVAILABLE FORMATS:

Delivered over two (2) consecutive days (8.30am till 4.00pm)

VENUE:

Public Courses - Advised at booking.
Private Courses - You will be advised by your employer

MEALS:

St John venues provide coffee, tea, a fridge and a microwave oven. Lunch time is from 12:00 – 12:45pm.

YOU SHOULD BRING:

Notebook, Pen/Pencil and a light jacket if you get cold in air conditioning.

STUDENT PACK:

Will be issued on the day and includes handout sheets and reference links

ASSESSMENT:

This course utilises instructor presentations, video, face-to-face scenarios and workshopping and as such, assessment is not required
