Kimberlee McKay has been appointed as the new Territory Officer Cadets in the NT. She commenced her role in this important position on the 24th June when Noel Talbot completed his appointment.

20080722_Kimberlee_McKayMichael McKay introduced Kim to St John when they married in 1988. She joined the Alice Springs Adult Division in the late 1980’s and regularly worked on the ambulances as an observer. Taking time out to start a family, she returned to St John when her daughter Amy joined the Cadet Band Division in 2002. She became a Divisional Officer the following year and was appointed Cadet Superintendent in January 2005.

Cadet Band Division was awarded Cadet Division of the Year in 2006 and 2007 while Kim was Divisional Superintendent.Kim says she was never a cadet. “However I had a friend who was a cadet and I wish she had tried to recruit me! I would have loved it”.

Her daughter Amy is now 17 years of age, a Grand Prior recipient and a National Competition Champion (First Aid Team Event 2008). Kim also has a son, Stephen.

Kim has worked for the Northern Territory Treasury as a Budget Analyst for just over 12 months having completed a Bachelor of Business (Information Systems) Degree. While studying for her degree (6 years part time) she worked for a large medical and dental practice.

Kim has lived in the NT for 23 years (14 years in Alice Springs and 9 years in Darwin), having emigrated with her family from Maryland, USA. Kim became an Aussie when she married Michael.
