Hi to all, lots has happened in Katherine since I last put an article in the Vollie newsletter; in this time there have been many people covering duties who, although they haven’t gone unnoticed or thanked, need to be mentioned. A big thank you to everyone who has helped out with duty coverage especially the time and effort for the Katherine show. 

Apart from the day to day duties Katherine Division has still been progressing along with driving nights thanks to Craig and all other St John personnel who have been helping us along our path.

This Monday Steve and I attended a Career expo at the Katherine High School; initially we were requested to cover the expo as a public duty to provide first aid coverage only. It was apparent after the first group of students went through that we were asked a number of questions regarding volunteering as well as the ambulance service. As we were unprepared for this sort of interest, Steve was able to quickly go home and put together information that we had left over from the Katherine show to use for the remaining groups coming through. In all we had a large number interested in Cadets, Adult Volunteers and the big question on how to become a paramedic. It was an incident free duty although we were kept busy with question after question from eager students and career minded people alike.
