Whoa there….., I can’t believe I missed last week’s deadline for the news letter. No excuses there!!!!! All I can think of is the Time Warp “it’s astounding, time is fleeting. Madness takes its toll” hahaha. Firstly, last lot of news I filled you in on my Bowling expeditions in Darwin but failed to tell you that our last Thursday before Easter Friday we had our first Social night for the year (rap over the knuckles for not remembering that!) How could I have let that bit of news go past? We had a BBQ on centre with everyone and their families getting involved. It was good to just be able to relax and not have to worry about training. Thursday 8th the Division had Craig Garraway down from Darwin to do another night of driving with us. This night was incident free as we rolled over the streets of Katherine once again under the instructions of Craig, Steven Reubenson and Steve Rudder. Dry season has definitely rolled in now as our duty roster is slowly filling up with Friday nights and weekend work. Friday 16th saw our first junior football match for the season. Amy and I both had fun watching all the kids get up and have a go on the field. No injuries to report, thanks to the referees who make sure there is no rough play. Closing of National Youth week on Saturday allowed Ron and me to watch the activities in Katherine at the Skate Park as they had the finals of the 2 square handball competitions. There was also supposed to be a competition for scooters, skateboards and bikes but was cancelled due to the rain that started in the last part of the handball.( So much for the dry season, huh! ) Sunday Christine, Simone, Mick and Beverly went along to the 2nd motoX for the season which was also cancelled for the day due to the amount of rain we had overnight that made it to muddy for the riders. Thank you goes out to everyone who helped out to cover duties over this time. Monday night, Cadets started off doing Drill practice with David as preparation for the ANZAC day march on Sunday. All the cadets have been fitted out with uniforms so they will all look good in the march on ANZAC day, I am looking forward to being there with everyone else who will be playing their part on the day. We then proceeded to review Module 1 of the Preliminary workbook in readiness for a First Aid course that the cadets will be attending this coming Saturday. Until next time my friends, take care and be good. “it’s just a jump to the left…And a step to the right, ……….. Let’s do the Time Warp again!”
