Greetings from the Volunteer Office (19th December 2006) PDF Print E-mail

Another year has almost come to an end but 2007 will start off in full steam as we gear up for the National Cadet Camp. The camp has kept many of us busy over the past couple of months but we are looking forward to welcoming cadets and officers from around Australia so we can show off our wonderful city in the Wet Season.

Each year the work in the Volunteer Office seems to increase and I’m sure there are fewer hours in each day. This year there has been an increase in the number of requests for our service but thanks to the many hard working volunteers we seemed to have covered more with fewer members. In the New Year we will be concentrating on recruiting more members, especially adults, so if you have any suggestions on how we can succeed please let me know.

I always enjoy visiting the divisions meeting new members and catching up with friends. Thank you all for you hospitality and support over the past twelve months. I look forward to seeing you all again at the Superintendents Meetings in February.

The Volunteer Office wouldn’t function without the dedication and support of both Rosie and John. Thank you both for the wonderful job you do and get ready for more challenges in 2007.

I would like to give a special thanks to all the Territory Officers, Superintendents and Divisional Officers for their support throughout the year and look forward to working with you all again in 2007.

May I wish all our members and their families a very Merry Christmas and Happy and Safe New Year.

Volunteer Co-ordinator
