20070911_CAD_TC0 Five members of Tennant Creek Cadets successfully completed their Senior First Aid Course over the weekend of 8th & 9th September.20070911_CAD_TC

Saturday was a long day with the course running from 0800 to 1800hrs to allow a shorter day on Sunday so Barbara and I could drive back to Alice Springs in reasonable time. Congratulations to the Cadets who participated for enduring such a long day and for doing so well in the course.

For most members of St John Cadets completing a Senior First Aid Course is nothing remarkable, but when you’re in a small township such as Tennant Creek where resources and access to qualified trainers can be very limited, it’s a very important and positive step for the Cadets who very often will miss out on training or experience lengthy delays in receiving the training required to develop their skills and their Division.

When they could actually stop giggling long enough, they did eventually complete a spinal log roll.

Despite the serious nature of Senior First Aid we did have fun and finished off the weekend with a BBQ put on by Div’ Supt’ Cadets Matt Presnell.

Thanks to Matthew and his Senior Cadets for once again allowing Barbara and I to come and visit and for making us so welcome!

Keep up the Good Work
