Nhulunbuy Volunteer Division has changed their Training night to Tuesdays. On the first Tuesday volunteers went through lifting devices. The whole division was very interested in the KED, Scoop, Stretcher, Chair Stretcher, and Split Sheet & Spinal Board.

The next week we celebrated Kylie passing her Care One Exams. Kylie finished all three exams and passed with flying colours.

The Pavlova was very nice.

We then went to the Air Med hanger where we all enjoyed looking through their plane.

The Air Med nurse showed all the volunteers through the plane and drawers, and had a very good discussion about the Do’s and Don’ts of driving near, up to and around the plane. We also were shown around the air med hanger and in their store room.

The Cadets this week were starting on the Knowledge of the Order proficiency badge which should be completed in the next three weeks. Photos will follow soon. On Saturday 29th 2009 Mandy, Bertha, Kylie and Mark Ferguson went to the grand final of the Arnhem region NTAFL.

Gopu and Djarrak were the teams playing. We treated no one but thought we would, there being a small incident that required us to stick around. Both team players and fans decided to have a fight between each other. Chairs and tables were thrown in the air, but the police calmed the teams down. We still treated no one from the incident. Djarrak won the game 106 to 92.
