This story begins in a time, long, long ago...

20090827_PALM_Wedding One bright, overcast Thursday afternoon, St John members from the Palmerston Adult Division rocked up to the Novotel Atrium, Darwin in uniform to perform the infamous 'Guard of Honour' for two of their members who were finally getting married! Yes, this couple has been together since before Dinosaurs roamed the earth, before meteors were a threat to civilisation and before the first car was invented.

The said couple joined St John in Palmerston back in 2007 and since then the entire division has been eagerly waiting to support them on the day their lives change forever. Thus, it was no surprise 20090827_PALM_Wedding0when Palmerston Divisional Superintendent, Angie Butler stepped up to the plate and insisted that the Palmerston Adult Division would be there to support them in a way many could only imagine.

The day went off without a hitch. The minister was there, the groom was there, even the bride showed up on time (yes, there's a first for everything). When the bride walked down the aisle, St John members standing at attention on both sides, it was, to say the least, exciting!

Once the ceremony was said and done, documents signed and the newlyweds announced to all who ventured in, St John were there to once again congratulate the new husband and wife as they walked back down the aisle, together!20090826_PALM_Wedding1

In case you haven't figured it out by now, the newlyweds are Michael and Krystle. It was making history for St John Ambulance Australia (NT) to have the Guard of Honour ... who will be next, we wonder.

Our deepest and sincerest thanks to Angie Butler, her husband Benny, the Palmerston Adult Division, and everyone else who has supported us through the emotional roller coaster that you ride when planning a wedding, for without all your support, well ... it's anybody's guess as to where we would be.

Here are a couple of photos from the day, taken by our wonderful photographer, Michael McRostie, from Infocus Photography, a local Territory company. We hope you enjoy.
