Hosting the 2007 National Cadet Camp at the beginning of this year now seems so long ago. We have had a very busy year with some great new members joining our divisions and going out on public duties. Last year I remarked that each year the work in the Volunteer Office seems to increase and this year has been no different. I think that we should blame it on emails as they seem to take up so much of our time – typing in front of a screen. I would rather be out visiting the divisions. I always enjoy visiting the divisions, meeting new members and catching up with friends. Thank you all for you hospitality and support over the past twelve months. I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to visit every division but will try to visit early next year. This year we welcomed Kelly Raven into the Volunteer Office. Although she is out teaching in schools most of the week she is a great backup in the office when Rosie and I aren’t available. It does mean that we are a little short of space, but hopefully that problem will be rectified early next year. Thank you to Rosie, Kelly and John for all their hard work during the year and to Frank Dunstan for doing such a fabulous job with the newsletter all year. Thank you to all the Territory Officers, Superintendents and Divisional Officers for their support throughout the year and look forward to working with you all again in 2008. I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year. Article By Gwyn Balch |
