I recently visited Tennant Creek and Alice Springs Cadet divisions My visit to the Tennant Creek Cadet Division was perfectly timed to witness the Juniors and Cadets completing part of their Cycling badge. Bicycles of every type were lined up for the Cadets and Juniors to discuss the differences, similarities, pros and cons of each type. They each drew a picture of their bicycle and labelled the parts, including not only gears and spokes, but also flowered baskets, water bottles and handlebar ribbons. The visit also gave me the opportunity to observe what a fantastic job Senior Cadet Tori Reid has done teaching the Juniors and Cadets the drill skills she learnt on the recent NCO Course. The night was finished off with a healthy snack of fruit for everyone. The Alice Springs Cadet Division put on a great night for parents and visitors alike at their Divisional Inspection. All the Cadets and Juniors were well turned out in full uniform and their drill skills were impressive. After the inspection, a number of badges and certificates were presented as well as trophies for those who participated in the big bike ride as part of the cycling badge. A slide show entertained everyone with photos of activities and duties attended throughout the year and an informal supper allowed parents, visitors, cadets and juniors to mingle and discuss what a great job Geoff and is team has achieved thus far with the division. Thank you to Tennant Creek and Alice Springs Cadet divisions for their hospitality. I'm already looking forward to my next visit:-)
