On the night of the 10th of August members of the Palmerston Youth Division had a mission to complete. The mission, which they had all bravely accepted, was to surprise Kelly, the divisional Superintendent with a birthday party. The members had arrived early to blow up many balloons, set up the music and of course organise the food. As her arrival time approached the party hats went on and the group were preparing their vocal cords. 1, 2, 3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Kelly was greeted at the door by the members, and then the night began. In between the fun of singing to the music the division spent the night ripping up newspaper. This is to help prepare for the coming weeks where we are creating paper-maché decorations. These will be used at the cadet camp in September. While most members were busy with the newspaper a few of the girls had snuck away and were organising the next step in the plan - the birthday cake. After singing Kelly a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY we were all treated to a slice of chocolate cheesecake. This was made by Palmerston Superintendent, Julie Murrey. Overall it was a fantastic night and I would again like to wish Kelly a VERY BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
