NCO Camp/Course (15th July 2010) PDF Print E-mail

The inaugural NCO course/camp, held from 9-11 July at Knuckey Lagoon Recreation Reserve, was a huge success bringing 17 cadets from 9 divisions together for a 24/7 weekend of leadership, fun and learning. 20100715_Vol_News_11

Day one saw Kelly pick up the Katherine cadets from the bus station and utilise their strength and youthful energy to collect camp stretchers and teaching 20100715_Vol_News_12resources before the rest of the campers arrived including those who travelled on planes from Nhulunbuy, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs.

Friday night consisted of ice breakers led by Amy McKay and Hailee Skinner of the NT Youth Council and much appreciated pizza (thanks to Mick McKay) before setting up camp and falling into bed after a long day of travel for some (Tori from Tennant Creek left home at 0500 in order to meet the plane in Alice Springs).

To be continued next week ...
