The National Cadet First Aid Competition was held in Adelaide on 9 January 2010 on a hot 42 degree day. Luckily the competitors had a lovely air conditioned room to hang out in for isolation as the scenes were held outside, albeit in the shade with mist fans (primarily for the adjudicators, including myself, and patients). Our competitors were well prepared for scenes that included an amputation, red back spider bite, stroke and burns.

Congratulations to Sarah McLaughlin who placed 2nd in the individual competition and the whole team who placed 5th overall.

Also, well done to Melissa Kain and Rachel Fox who acted as part of the run through team with less than 12 hours notice.
