The Cadets from the Band Division will once again be packing their bags and heading for the National First Aid Competitions to be held in Sydney in January 2009. Congratulations to all the cadets who competed in the First Aid Competitions held in Batchelor last weekend. A special thank you to the Alice Springs Team for travelling all the way to Darwin to participate in the competitions.

The competitors enjoyed the scenario prepared by the Competition Manager, Christine Turner, and were asked to treat a number of casualties in the sand pit area of the Batchelor Area School. The injuries included an unconscious casualty, a laceration to upper arm, a broken wrist, a casualty with broken lower leg and abrasions to a knee.

Many thanks to Christine Turner and the rest of the team who helped on the day –adjudicators, cas sim, time keepers, scorers and the terrific casualties. Also a big thank you to Yvonne Cole and her helpers for the very tasty scones for morning tea and for providing such a great lunch.
