Had a busy weekend post Easter which was busy in other ways. Saturday saw Ashlee and me off to the Superbikes for a long but relatively quiet duty. We saw a few spills where the riders got up and walked away, but it was mostly qualifying stuff. A bit noisy and I played with some PPE in preparation for the V8 Supercars where it’s a bit more difficult to hear yourself think, let alone maintain communication with base.
We were there to look after adventurers studying the wildlife and flora of this interesting area. The organisers looked after us very well, as did the organisers at the Superbikes. Cloud cover kept us a bit cooler than the superbikes, we made new friends and caught up with a couple of old ones. None of the expected snake bites or agitated crocodile incidents occurred and we were allowed to go home at about 1630. I am sorry that I did not take a picture of the resident Jabiru as that would have been more interesting than my mug in these photos.
