Sunday 24th was our first real duty for the year. Mel got some photos, hoping she sent them your way. Christine also showed up to make sure the moto crossers didn’t do anything silly, and it worked. Duty started at 0900 and finished at 1300. It was an intro fun day and all had a good time.

On Tuesday we were up bright and early for Australia Day Celebrations at Freds Pass for the Litchfield Council and associated rural area. I participated in the fun run at 0700 and that knocked me about a bit. There are some photos of that one around though not on my camera.

Vollie News 04 Feb 20101A nice surprise was the Young Citizen of the Year going to Humpty Doo Cadet Hayley Cockman. My camera work was a little average for this so we can find better photos later. Well done Hayley. We are very proud of you. Hayley was a very enthusiastic helper with our public duties over the last year. Her citation will be forthcoming.

Another Cadet, Chantel O'Brien got an award representing her school, St Francis of Assisi at Humpty Doo. Vollie News 04 Feb 20102

From Freds Pass we then went to Howard Springs for the fun day at Howard Park. Gerry Wood put on another great day with the Howard Springs Volunteer Fire Brigade working to keep everyone (and us) fed and watered through the day. Henry played a bit of cricket and I resisted the opportunity to enter the cold pie/hot coke competition. Henry has the photos for this one.

We had Henry Raafs and cadets Axl, Hayley, and Nina from Humpty Doo and finally logged off at about 1700.
