Humpty Doo attended the last TERRA (Top End Road Racing for motorcycles), must have been about the 8th November, ably assisted by Melanie and Brian. A lot of my time was taken up the Presentation Night at the Novatel on Friday 13th Nov., and the conference the next day at Casuarina. Then there was the volunteer dinner at Kantilla's on the Saturday evening. Barbara, Vanessa and Karina also attended and we had a good time thanks to the Commissioner for his generosity. Sunday morning was a beautiful Church Service at the Anglican Cathedral, which Karina and I attended. Hence I was slightly overdressed when I relieved Christine at the Rally Cars, Hidden Valley at about 1130. That was the last Rally event for the year and our attendance was most welcome though not required in earnest. I think this is a good thing. Greg also managed to attend the St John Annual General Meeting on the Wednesday afternoon and found it very interesting to look at the big picture and the size of our budget. Barb, Karina and I managed to catch up with a few people at the Monsoons party. The noise chased me away early but the others hung on for a bit longer. Saturday was sleep in and it was an experience I resolved to have a few more of. On to Sunday and a mini sleep in saw Vanessa and me at the DMCC for a super enduro thing at Hidden Valley for their last event of the year. Brian from Darwin joined us a little later and it made the event more enjoyable. Someone warned me that a new Natural Terrain motorcycle group will emerge this coming year so let us hope training can get more troops on the line for next year. Anyway a lot of fun was had by all and the day passed with one non clinical for someone too proud to come over. Duties are dropping off so if anyone wants experience and/or assistance in our core business of helping the public, it can be arranged through Rosie. Even if you are an observer, so long as your police check is through, I will even come and pick you up. Article by |
