Been a bit happening lately. The highlight was the 2008 St John Investiture Ceremony at Government House on Thursday 22nd May. Alice Hageman is the first Humpty Doo Adult to become a Paramedic. Lee Payne and John Payne received Priory Votes of Thanks. Bev Hellyer was voted Student of the Year. Trouble is that these valuable people are spread far and wide and we have to boost our numbers somehow. The Freds Pass Show had its moments but the product was delivered with exceptional Quality. A few points to clear up for next year regarding site location and access. Thanks to all who took time off to get things ready and then clean up. Great to see Kay back in the fray and Kylie Morris contributed with her excellent knowledge base. Special thanks to Andre and Robyn who did some extra running around in difficult circumstances. Lee and Lauren for looking after the horsies in the preceding days. Kay for her support. Will make sure someone else is down to take Car 56 home on the Friday and Saturday next year. Thanks to Pat, Angie and Benny as well as Christine for looking after the details. The Cadets were a little light on but those who made it did very well and it was great to have them. Mick and Kimberlee made things easier on the Saturday morning. Barb, Lyn and Yvonne helped with the packing up so well done everyone. Hope I haven’t left anyone out. The Monday following was the Lions convention grand ball. Lee and I attended along with the Commissioner. Had a CRV callout on Wednesday to a not able to be found MVA. Thursday was the Investiture and Angie from Palmerston went on to Mindil afterwards. Friday was the Drags where I drove for Tamara and Geoff from Darwin Division. A good night with no incidents. Saturday almost turned into a rest day for me while Barb went to the Bass in the Grass. A CRV callout for Lyn and myself put paid to our Saturday evening plans as we met with an injured person just north of Acacia and transported him to RDH. Sunday was the Thumpercross with Krystle and Fiona from Palmerston. Lee looked after the Rally Cars and their lap sprints from a private car. This coming weekend I am off to Daly River with Byron and Daniel Payne for three days. Sorry about no photos but am waiting for other people to send them through.
