Humpty Doo have been quite busy over the last couple of weeks looking after the Robbie Robbins Rodeo where Warren Purse's son, Terry, took out a trophy for hanging onto a bull longer than the others in his class. 20091001_HDHis winning ride happened 5 minutes after we patched up his head laceration. 20091001_HD0

Palmerston Adults and Humpty Doo looked after the Gymnastic Championships. Karina and I had a couple of Darwin cadets who were very well behaved and enjoyed themselves.

Prior to the Gymnastics, Karina and I attended the Darwin Runners Club 10Km road race at Lake Alexander.

Karina also attended the Drags on the previous Friday evening and has the pictures to prove it.

20091001_HD1I hear Lee, Angie (Palmerston) and Barbara have been creating OB12 records (numbers of) at the BMX in Palmerston. Lee thought it a bit improper that the responding ambo to an abdo addressed her as “mum”.

Of late, whenever I have needed a hand Karina was available; it is good to have so much youthful energy at hand. We did two days at Adelaide River with the help of Batchelor Division, at the 2 day 180Km Boulerdash Motorcycle Enduro. 20091001_HD2

We must have been so well prepared that we had to fight for two OB12's over the weekend with about 70 riders taking part. It was hot and we listened to the Grand Final of the AFL without interruption.

Special thanks to Batchelor with Bruce, Russell, Ros and >(Jan?)>> for giving us a bit of a sleep in. On the way back we were asked by comms to detour via Batchelor to pick up some equipment left over from a previous job.

We visited Christine and Geraldine at Mindil for tea before heading back to Humpty Doo and sleep.
