Thanks for your patience and help over the last month or two. Byron May will be visiting us this Tuesday with an ambulance to assist training.

20070904_HDManaged to get some paperwork in for the Division and we chalked up over 1700 hours of public duties by June 30. Congratulations on the performance so far.

Well done guys!

That was before things got busy!

Starting to see some new faces. Remember we have Christine Turner showing up on the 11th September to help polish off the SDP for those of you working through it. We will all be joining in to brush up on a few basics. Care 1 has commenced and we have 4 members in that program. It looks a bit hairy but there is plenty of time if we work out a routine and resource base. We may have to schedule an extra night or form study groups as we get closer to the exam.

Community Response Volunteers (CRV) are very close to being up and going. The phones have been purchased and evaluated in the rural area over the next cou20070904_HD0ple of days. We had a practise on the weekend with Lyn and Lauren. Many thanks for your efforts looking after the many patients of a 2 car MVA on Girraween Rd.

Car 56 is still getting tweaked at the doctor’s so we have 55 at the moment. Been doing a good job too. Even had a standby callout on Sunday to Girraween Primary while the bushfire was raging the area.

Thanks also to Andre who looked after the Rural old Timers last Wednesday. Have been very busy with Polocrosse taking up many weekends. Last one coming up and for some reason we have no shortage of volunteers. Lauren is on the current Ambulance driving course so we wish her   all the best as these are usually quite enjoyable. Congratulations are in order for Robyn who has been accepted as an Ambulance Dispatcher. Word is that Kay is out of the loop for at least another week. Lee has been doing a great job sorting out the duties as well doing many of them.

Lee, Myself, Lyn, Lauren and Debbie had a great production line going at the Motocross last Saturday night (the 1st). As soon as we had one at the first aid post we got another callout. We ran out of stretchers, oxygen and other gear. The Ambulances were running all over the place so we had to wait for them. In the end we transported the last patient in Car55. We then got another job to Palmerston when we left the hospital. Lyn and I would have got to bed by about 0400. Have seen something nearly as busy before, but that Saturday was mayhem. The job numbers for that day were into the 90’s before we got home..
