The meeting last week was attended by a few and even Frank appeared briefly. The restructure of the division was decided on with some new faces for DO and Sergeant. I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank Helen and Byron for their wonderful contributions to the Division over the last few years. In St John a few years can seem like an eternity and our circumstances can change rapidly. Helen and Byron have been great support in maintaining my sanity and perseverance as the division struggles through these formative years. I am looking forward to many more years with these members continuing to contribute from a less demanding perspective. Now it is my turn to groom a successor for DS so I can take a break. Lyn Jacobsen is to be the new Divisional Officer and John Payne has enough hours and skills up to be made Sergeant. I would like to welcome them on board. I trust all of you will support them as they get adjusted to their new positions. More recently, I helped out for the last few hours at motocross with Henry. Had another suspect spinal which we despatched to RDH right at the end of the duty. Still got home before midnight. Sue-Ellen, Hailee, and myself took on the rugged NTFL at Fred’s Pass No 2 Oval on Sunday. It must be my presence at the ground that causes Southern Districts to lose. I wonder if they will start paying me to stay away? We dispensed two bandaids. Note that the Football is now being played on the back oval now and not where it used to be, That is the oval where the soccer normally is. You are now expected to enter near the Power and Water depot. I have it on reasonable authority that there are only another 3 or 4 home games this season so if want some easy hours on a Sunday keep an eye out. Training for Tuesday 7th will be Diabetes kindly presented by Frank. Robyn will be taking our first look at first aid kits on the 14th Nov - especially the personal ones we should all have. I don't expect any masterpieces but we will be trying to maintain functional kits for everyone. There is nothing more embarrassing that to be caught in uniform (or even out of) without a basic toolkit. I expect Byron to be free on the 21st Nov. and will probably do Shock including Anaphylaxis. I also want to get a reasonable chunk taken out of the SDP and or SMP program for the year with the remaining nights. Helen, myself and someone from town should be able to do this for you. I have decided to formally set up social kitty for goodies on the night and other functions through the year like the Feral Ambos at goanna games or firies games - I wonder who we can get to coach us for that? Definitely high finance to the tune of about $2 per night. Anyway that will require a body to collect that stash and organise the goodies etc. Please give it some thought. Christmas function still needs a firm date. There are not many cadets so there is a suggestion that we combine with the Cadet Division for this one. What say you??? To be decided his coming Tuesday the 7th. The Annual Parade this Saturday the 11th. is COMPULSORY for efficiency status and it is good for the soul. It reminds us of our place in history and is usually a pleasant event. Apologies in writing are required if you are unable to attend. Take care.
