When you become a St John Volunteer we will provide you with a uniform and training. There are however a few necessary requirements.
You must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess an Apply first aid, Senior First Aid (or equivalent) certificate or willing to obtain one
- Provide evidence of good character
- Provide evidence of a current and acceptable Criminal Record Check
- Be medically fit to perform the role
- Agree to abide by the St John Code of Conduct
- Commit to engaging in an ongoing pathway of skills development
- Be able to use the skills and knowledge acquired from training
- Be prepared to undertake public duties and activities on a regular basis
- Be capable of study to complete the necessary training
Retirement is determined on fitness and the ability to carry out the necessary first aid duties rather than age.
