The role of a Paramedic is challenging, demanding and rewarding. We are looking for the best candidates. Once selected, you will be required to successfully complete the Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) through the Paramedic Training College located at Casuarina HQ.
Further education and on the job training and support will prepare you for your first assignment to an ambulance crew within the Northern Territory where your new skills will contribute to the high standards of community service that St John Ambulance NT is known for. The position is responsible for appropriate and timely delivery of emergency and nonemergency Ambulance services in the Northern region.
A suitably qualified Paramedic with management skills and experience to support the Operations Manager in supervising paramedics, communications, workshop and operations support staff on a day-to-day basis.
Including overseeing clinical standards and staffing operations and supervising the rostering of staff and approval of timesheets and absences.
The Northern Region covers four centres in Darwin, and two regional centres in Katherine and Nhulunbuy.
The Applicant
- A minimum qualification the Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance)- HLT50407 (or higher)
- Currently be practising at their qualified level with a recognised State or Territory Emergency Ambulance Service
- Effective and clear communicator and strong ability to work in a team environment;
- Approachable and flexible;
- Experience as an active member of an organisational strategic committee;

First Aid Training Officer (Part Time) |

We welcome enquiries from appropriately qualified people for this role.
Part-time Trainers are paid for their training and are generally responsible for the delivery of ‘after-hours’ first aid courses. This may be on: 2 x Saturdays; a Saturday and Sunday; or some other format which meets customer requirements. There is occasionally an opportunity to deliver courses during weekdays depending on customer enquiries and the availability of full-time Trainers. As required (and where available), Part-time Trainers may be requested to deliver training in a range of areas outside of Darwin and Alice Springs (all costs are covered).
Essential.
- As the training St John (NT) delivers is encompassed within the Vocational Education and Training sector and is nationally accredited in the Health Training Package, HLT07, all Trainers must hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or other, recognised equivalent (recognition evidence is required).
- Trainers must hold a current Apply First Aid (previously Senior First Aid), credential achieved within the last 3 years or recognised equivalent
Desirable
- Experience delivering adult education (not essential).
- Experience working with a diverse range of individual trainees (not essential).
- NT Drivers License
- ‘On-the-job’ training is offered through the internally and individually structured Trainer Certification Process.

St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc, is an incorporated charitable organisation, operating throughout the Northern Territory and dedicated to the relief of persons in sickness, distress, suffering or danger.
We have immediate opportunities for long-term and short-term contracts in the local area within easy commuting distance of Darwin. Due to expansion of existing customer contracts and the impending confirmation of new contracts for the provision of remote area paramedic services at various sites within Australia and overseas, a number of opportunities has arisen for both long and short term tenure appointments.
