People who may consider this level of first aid training are those who:
  • Homeowners with a swimming pool on their property (or anywhere in the general vicinity)
  • Power/electrical workers
  • Shopping centre and/or general security personnel
  • Event (small or larger) staff
  • Industry employees (all industry), and the general public

CPR training aims to offer learners the opportunity to achieve competence and confidence in the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a safe, supportive and non-confrontational environment.

This training is suitable for any person 14 years and above. 

The training will assist learners to:
  • Respond to signs of an unconscious casualty
  • Perform CPR; and
  • Communicate details of the incident
Topics include:
Legal issues; infection control; DRABCD Action Plan; managing the unconscious casualty; resuscitation; defibrillation information and choking.
  • This training is delivered face-to-face over 3-4 hours (group size depending)

Assessment:
  • Practical assessment only, comprising a practical scenario with an observation checklist used by the assessor

    Prior to 1st July 2008 a Statement of Attainment for the Course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 70104NT will be issued for successful completion of this training

    For all other enrolments after 1st of July 2008 successful participants completing this training will receive a Statement of Attainment HLTCPR201A Perform CPR.

    To maintain proficiency and current competence at this level of first aid training, St John (NT) recommends re-validation every 12 months
