HLTFA301B - Apply first aid (Previously Senior First Aid) | Covers important emergency first aid topics in both theory and practice. This training has theory and practical assessments. Certification is generally recognised by Industry for 3 years from date of successful completion. Recommended for anyone over 14 years and especially workplaces where the need for First Aid Officers is identified under legislation. Formats; Apply First Aid - (2 days) Flexible Learning - (4-6 hours of self study and participation in a one day Practical Skill Workshop inclusive of the theory assessment). Refresher - Reviews and re-validates the skills attained during the full Apply First Aid program (1 Day). |
| HLTCPR201A - Perform CPR | Ideal for any person who wants to know how to perform CPR Additional CPR formats; CPR plus Automated External Defibrillation - It is highly recommended for any workplace which has access to the AED and aims to confirm CPR competence while adding the use of an AED to the skill base. (4.5 hours) CPR plus Low Voltage Switchboard Rescue - Aside from confirming CPR competence, the LVSR training is suitable for groups who are required to operate around Low Voltage Switchboards and carry with them or would like to carry with them a LVSR Kit. | HLTFA404A - Apply Advanced Resuscitation Techniques | Ideal for first aiders with access to advanced equipment in the workplace such as oxygen resuscitation devices, oral airways, aspiration (suction) equipment and automated external defibrillators. Pre-entry standards apply. 4 hours. |
| Occupational First Aid | Offers an extension of the skills covered in Apply First Aid course. It aims to equip participants with the skills and confidence to undertake first aid duties within an industrial environment. Ideal for designated ‘senior workplace first aid officers’, persons operating first aid rooms; or all those with an Industry First Aid or Emergency Responder functions/roles. Pre-entry standards apply. 5 days |
HLTFA201A - Provide basic emergency life support (Previously Accident Action) | A ‘see it do it’ short course to assist with the emergency care of the sick or injured. This course is not the equivalent of an Apply First Aid (previously Senior First Aid) course, but offers hands-on training for commonly encountered emergency situations. Ideal for security personnel, sporting club members or any person in a workplace who wishes to gain basic knowledge and skills of essential first aid. 7 hours |
| Industrial Paramedic | An intensive program designed for workplaces where highly skilled personnel are required to respond to workplace incidents. Skills and procedures introduced throughout this program may require medical officer approval to initiate. Ideal for Site Emergency Response Team members, those with (or planning to offer) advanced casualty care responsibilities in the workplace. Pre-entry standards apply 10 days. |
| HLTFA402B - Apply Advanced First Aid | For those who may be required or may be expected to provide more than basic first aid to the sick and injured. Ideal for designated workplace first aid officers or those wishing to advance their knowledge and skills after completion of the Apply First Aid course. Pre-entry standards apply. 3 days |
| HLTFA403A - Manage first aid in the workplace | This unit is delivered as part of the St John (NT) Occupational First Aid program. It is structured to meet the learning needs of people who as part of their first aider role are required to compete Occupational First Aid. It addresses establishing and maintaining facilities to promote the provision of first aid in the workplace. |
