| COURSE OUTCOME: | Participants will enhance first aid skills and knowledge to enable them to provide an advanced first aid response. |
| WHO SHOULD ATTEND: | Those - who are ‘site’ First Aid responders
- people who have previously completed pre-perquisite training
- community members who may attend a first aid incident;
- people wishing to gain additional skills which may help toward future employment

| PRE-REQUISITE: | An Apply first aid (or equivalent) credential obtained within the last 3 years |
| TIMES: | Delivered over 3 days. 8:00am – 5:00pm. |
| VENUE: | Public Courses - Advised in your confirmation letter. Private Courses - You will be advised by your employer |
| DRESS: | Due to the nature of practical exercises skirts or dresses are not considered appropriate. |
| MEALS: | St John venues provide coffee, tea, a fridge and a microwave oven. A lunch break of at least 45 minutes is programmed daily. The lunch break will generally be taken sometime between 12:00 midday and 1:30pm. |
| PRE COURSE MATERIALS: | Participants will receive a basic first aid revision workbook; Basic Life Support publication; and wallet card at least 1 week prior to the course commencement date. It is highly recommended the workbook be completed prior to the course. It is an important part of the course’s introductory session which reviews underpinning knowledge associated with first aid procedures. Please bring the completed workbook with you. |
| YOU SHOULD BRING: | - Notebook
- Pen/Pencil
- The completed workbook (which will be sent to participants prior to course commencement).
- A light jacket if you get cold in air conditioning
- Change of clothing and a towel
- A current Australian First Aid Manual Note: participants are strongly encouraged to contact Training Administration to purchase this item (if required)

| STUDENT PACK: | Will be issued on the day and includes: Basic Life Support publication; student handouts and promotional materials. |
| ASSESSMENT: | Two assessment papers comprising multi choice and true/false answers are completed at different times during the program. The break between assessments is to allow participants the opportunity to focus their attention in specific areas. Practical assessments are undertaken progressively throughout the program with Assessors using observation checklists. Practical assessments will focus on both individual and group performance. Participants with literacy/numeracy difficulties or physical ailments/conditions should speak with the Trainer to discuss alternative approaches. Please note: participants should be aware this course requires them to undertake strenuous physical activity to meet all assessment criteria to a satisfactory level. It is advised that intending participants who sustain an injury after the time of booking contact St John-NT to postpone their training |

- If your course has been paid for by a third party (employer, employment agency) attendance details and a copy of your final credential will be made available to that party.
- St John (NT) may also use this information to contact you at the time your qualification is about to expire to remind you of the need to arrange to have it updated.

| CREDENTIAL ISSUED: | Statement of Attainment. NOTE: If you are completing this training to update an existing credential you will receive a Statement of Proficiency not another Statement of Attainment. The Statement of Proficiency carries recognition where it may be a requirement that an individual maintains ‘current’ first aid competence at this level. |
| RE-VALIDATION RECOMMENDED: | To maintain current competence St John Ambulance (NT) strongly recommends proficiency is revalidated within 3 years from the date of issue. |
