St John took over the Ambulance Service from the Department of Health for the Tennant Creek & Barkley Region in 1979.

In late 1980 the Ambulance Service was moved from a tin shed to brand new premises in Windley Street.

Tennant Creek Centre is located on Windley St (no number as it forms part of the hospital).

Staff of 5 plus OIC and 3 vehicles 2 Mercedes and 1 Troop carrier.

The administration hours for Tennant Creek is Monday – Friday 0830hrs – 1630hrs, excluding public holidays.
