Prof Schmitzer has worked and lived in the Northern Territory for 35 years and is Head of Faculty for Health, Business and Science at Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. Jan has occupied positions as the Senior Lecturer, Associate Dean and Research Fellow at Northern Territory University; Chapter Chair and NT Officer for RCNA, and as Nurse Administrator and Principal Nurse Educator at Royal Darwin Hospital, Northern Territory.
