I left school at 15 and worked in Westpac (Bank of NSW) as it was known then working for 5 years until I moved into the Rent-A-Car business for 5 years for the later part of the 1980’s. In 1988 I joined the Operations Branch and was a member of the Darwin Division, during this time I developed a passion for the work done by Paramedics . In 1990 I was successful in obtaining fulltime employment with the organisation starting in Tennant Creek in December 1990. In 1992 I transferred to Katherine where I worked for 2 years until I moved to Nhulunbuy to start an Ambulance Service from scratch, until this time the Ambulance was run from the Gove Hospital from the A&E Department. After establishing the organisation in Nhulunbuy with an Ambulance Service I returned back to Katherine to take over the role of Regional Manager for Katherine/Tennant Creek until the Katherine floods in 1998. I moved to Alice Springs to take up a role as Deputy Operations Manager- Southern under Steve Peers until 2005 when I returned Darwin. During 5 years in Darwin I have taken the role of Deputy Operations Manager-Northern and for the past 2 years as the Operations Manager-Northern. My involvement with the Operations Branch has continued since joining in 1988 where I now hold the position of Territory Officer-Major Events. |
