| Two St John NT members recognised in Australia Day Honours List |

28 January 2011 MEDIA RELEASE Two members of St John Ambulance NT have been recognised for their contribution to the community in the 2011 Australia Day Honours List.
Joining the St John Ambulance NT Council in 1988, Mr Mooney became treasurer in 1989, then in 1997 he was appointed the position of Deputy Chairman and Treasurer until his appointment to Chairman in 2000, a position he holds to this day. As well as being a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Valuers, he has also been a member of many other prominent Board’s within the Northern Territory such as; the Land and Acquisition Tribunal, the Land Valuation Board, the Darwin Development Consent Authority, the Real Estate Institute of the NT and held the position of Vice Chairman of the Keep Australia Beautiful Council. Mr Mooney ‘s appointment to the Order of Australia recognises his long and committed service to the community of the Northern Territory, particularly through St John Ambulance Australia, and to the real estate sector. Mr Andrew Bruyn has been instrumental in his role as Chairman of the St John Ambulance NT Endowment Trust, having assisted in reinvigorating the Trust and inviting Mr Bruyn’s appointment to the Order of Australia recognises his service to the community of the Northern Territory through executive roles with a range of cultural, tourism, education and charitable organisations, and to the broadcast media industry. St John Ambulance NT Chief Executive Officer, Ross Coburn said the appointment of both Mr Mooney and Mr Bruyn on the Australia Day Honours List is acknowledgement of an outstanding contribution to the community by St John Ambulance in the Northern Territory. “On behalf of all staff, council members and volunteers of St John Ambulance NT, I congratulate Mr Michael Mooney AM KStJ and Mr Andrew Bruyn AM on their most prestigious appointments to the Australia Day Honours List and thank them for their ongoing commitment to the values and objectives of St John Ambulance NT.
