Investiture and Graduation Ceremony
Wednesday 2nd June 2010 at 5.30pm
Government House, Darwin

St John Lord Prior,  Professor Anthony Mellows OBE TD KStJ is visiting Darwin this week to conduct the annual Graduation and Investiture Ceremony for St John Ambulance NT, together with Deputy Prior and Administrator of the Northern Territory, His Honour Mr Tom Pauling AO QC, at Government House this Wednesday 2nd June 2010 at 5.30pm. The Lord Prior of the Order of St John is the most senior non-Royal member of the organisation, representing the HM Queen Elizabeth II, as the Sovereign Head of the Order.

The 2010 Graduation Ceremony will include an Investiture ceremony, where Peter Poole will be invested as a Knight and Lesley King will be invested as a Dame within the Order of St John. An investiture of a Knight or Dame into the Order is an honour, sanctioned by Her Majesty The Queen in recognition of outstanding contributions to the work of the Order of St John. Mr Mike Mooney KStJ, Chairman of Council for St John Ambulance NT said “I am proud of the significant contribution that both Peter and Lesley have made to St John in the Northern Territory. This is indeed a high honour and is thoroughly deserved”.

14 members will be admitted and promoted within the historical and prestigious Order of St John of Jerusalem, in addition to 7 members being presented with service bars. This year St John is also proud to present the Advanced Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) and the Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) to 10 graduates of the St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc Paramedic Training College, responsible for providing the training for Ambulance Officers from Trainee through to Intensive Care Paramedic status.

St John Ambulance NT would like to extend its congratulations to all members to be promoted, admitted and graduated at this years ceremony and would like to thank the Northern Territory community for its continued support of St John Ambulance NT.
