Media Release

30 June 2009

St John Ambulance NT will be on show at Casuarina Shopping Centre this Saturday 4 July 2009 spreading the word on how you can make a nomination for the 2009 Paramedic of the Year Awards.

Countless Territorians have experienced the work of St John Ambulance Paramedics first hand, with many fortunate to have their lives saved by these true heroes. If you are one of these people, you might like to nominate the Paramedic that treated you! It’s a great way to say thank you and recognise the vital work of our Paramedics in the community.

Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise initiated the Paramedic of the Year awards to acknowledge the chosen vocation of paramedics through the dedication and service they provide in communities through-out the Northern Territory, with the awards now in their 10th year, Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise president Wendy Mackay said: ‘‘As with my predecessors, it is my honour as president of the Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise to be involved with this year’s award.”

Nomination forms will be available from the St John Ambulance Information Display at Casuarina Shopping centre this Saturday and also from St John Ambulance Centres throughout the Territory and the Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise website www.rotarnet.com.au/darwinsunrise. (Nominations are now closed)

Closing date for this year’s award is Friday, 31 July 2009. St John Ambulance NT staff will be available at the Casuarina Shopping Centre information display to provide information about First Aid Training Courses, First Aid Kit supplies, Volunteer Services, Contract Paramedical Services, St John Cadet program and careers as a Paramedic.

See you there!
