Media Release 27 February 2009 St John Ambulance Volunteers in the Northern Territory are pleased to receive a The Silver Falcon XT Station Wagon will be used to transport St John Ambulance volunteers and vital first aid and communication equipment to all events requesting first aid coverage services in the Darwin and Palmerston areas. “The support of the Northern Territory Government through this gifted vehicle ensures our ability to continue to provide First Aid coverage to events across the Territory as a service to the community” said Steve Peers, First Aid Services Manager. “As the Top End continues to grow and expand, the service provided by St John Ambulance has been serving the Northern Territory community through its volunteers since 1950 and ambulance service since 1975 and ensures that members of the public have access to first aid services at a range of community and public events. Many public events are not eligible for public liability insurance without the presence of qualified first aid officers and the community is grateful for the many performances, festivals and large scale events we are able to enjoy each year with the support of our St John Ambulance Volunteers. St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc, is an incorporated charitable organisation, with over 500 active volunteers providing emergency support, first aid training and community services across the Northern Territory. The St John Ambulance Volunteers of Darwin, Outer Darwin and Palmerston attend St John Ambulance Australia NT Inc would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Northern Territory Government for supporting the many St John Ambulance Volunteers, through this program.
