Presentations of three Grand Prior Awards, 1000 Hour Community Service Badge, Commissioner’s Awards, Division of the Year and Volunteer of the Year will follow, where exceptional volunteer commitment by individuals will be acknowledged by St John Ambulance NT and the people of the Northern Territory. St John Ambulance has been serving the Northern Territory community through its ambulance service since 1975 and division of volunteers since 1950 and ensures that members of the public have access to first aid services at a range of community and public events. Many public events are not eligible for public liability insurance without the presence of qualified first aid officers and the community is grateful for the many performances, festivals and large scale events we are able to enjoy each year with the support of our St John Ambulance Volunteers. St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc, is an incorporated charitable organisation, with over 500 active volunteers providing emergency support, first aid training and community services across the Northern Territory. In the last financial year, St John Ambulance Volunteers in the Northern Territory donated 67,961 hours of their own time to attend to public duties, ambulance duties and First Aid training courses. St John Ambulance Australia NT Inc would like to congratulate all volunteers for their achievements throughout 2008 and thank all volunteers for continuing to make such a valuable commitment to the community.
