St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc wishes to congratulate Steve Peers for 30 years of continual service with St John Ambulance in the Northern Territory and 32 years as an active Volunteer.

This significant milestone in Steve’s career will be officially acknowledged on Thursday 28 May 2009 when he will be invested as a Knight within the Order of St John. The Investiture will be conducted at Government House, by His Honour Mr Tom Pauling AO QC KStJ, Administrator of the Northern Territory and the Deputy Prior of the Order of St John as part of the annual official graduation ceremony for St John Ambulance NT.

An investiture of a Knight into the Order is an honour, sanctioned by Her Majesty The Queen in recognition of outstanding contributions to the work of the Order of St John. Mr Mike Mooney KStJ, Chairman of Council for St John Ambulance NT said “I have known Steve for many years and have the highest regard for his voluntary service and commitment not only to St John but to the wider Northern Territory community. This is indeed a high honour but one which is thoroughly deserved”.

The 2009 Graduation Ceremony will include an Investiture ceremony, admitting and promoting 12 members within the historical and prestigious Order of St John of Jerusalem, in addition to 17 members being presented with service bars by His Honour Mr Tom Pauling, Administrator of the Northern Territory.

This year St John is also proud to present the Advanced Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) and the Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) to 15 graduates of the St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc Paramedic Training College, responsible for providing the training for Ambulance Officers from Trainee through to Intensive Care Paramedic status.

St John Ambulance NT would like to extend its congratulations to all members to be promoted, admitted and graduated at this years ceremony and would like to thank the Northern Territory community for its continued support of St John Ambulance NT.
